GENERAL DESCRIPTION : Under supervision of the Deputy Director, the Local Leadership Group (LLG) and Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of a comprehensive local home visiting system that connects pregnant women, young children, and their families to essential community services and supports. This position facilitates collaboration among community partners to strengthen family-serving systems and improve access to resources throughout Genesee County.
In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for the planning, facilitation, scheduling, and data collection of prevention education programming for Genesee and Shiawassee counties. These efforts focus on educating children, parents, community members, professionals, and other stakeholders on trauma-informed care, the prevention of child abuse and child sexual abuse, and other topics that promote child and family well-being.
The Coordinator also supports Parent Partners in their parent leadership and advocacy efforts, fosters meaningful family engagement, and assists with the implementation and management of special projects that advance organizational and community goals. This position works collaboratively with community stakeholders, maintains accurate records and reporting requirements, and contributes to initiatives that strengthen prevention, family support, and child advocacy efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities LLG Coordination 90% of job function:
Community Engagement & Coordination
- Facilitate collaboration among home-visiting programs, families, and key community partners to ensure an integrated network of support that effectively addresses family needs.
- Lead and support coordination efforts focused on strengthening the local home visiting system.
- Facilitate alignment across agencies and programs to promote cohesive service delivery and shared goals.
- Schedule, organize, and facilitate regular LLG meetings.
- Lead regular continuous quality improvement (CQI) workgroups and attend monthly check-ins with QI coach.
- Attend meetings and events as assigned by the LLG State Coordinator (i.e., quarterly coordinator check-ins, state grantee meetings, Parent Leader Community meetings, training, etc.).
- Represent the LLG at community events, meetings, and other outreach opportunities where early childhood professionals and families (who can benefit from home visiting) are present.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders within the greater early childhood system.
- Identify and bridge gaps between home visiting and adjacent systems (e.g. health, early childhood, child welfare) to improve coordination and service delivery.
- Create structures and processes to incorporate the lived experiences of families into system planning, evaluation, and decision-making.
- Educate partners and community on the home visiting system and individual models.
- Apply continuous quality improvement methods to enhance coordination across the home visiting system.
- Serve as a resource to partners and community stakeholders, promoting engagement and collaboration.

Reporting & Documentation
- Develop a local work plan and complete quarterly progress reports.
- Facilitate the development of an annual LLG work plan.
- Maintain accurate records of required documentation.
- Provide feedback to program leaders on community needs and trends related to home visiting programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prevention Coordination 10% of job function:
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups/members to promote prevention education including engagement of parents and caregivers.
- Provide community education to community partners and stakeholders in accordance with community needs and best practices
- Maintain accurate reporting at weekly, monthly and more frequent intervals
- Build, cultivate and maintain positive relationships with Genesee County and Shiawassee County schools, childcare centers and all other child-serving
- Schedule and coordinate educational workshops and events.
- Collect data on program effectiveness and participant outcomes. Data will be used to assess the impact of prevention education efforts and make improvements as needed
- Participate in special projects related to child abuse prevention and community well-being, as assigned.
- Support all agency events, fundraisers and functions as appropriate and assigned
- Attend staff meetings and provide updates regarding prevention education program
Education and/or Experience & Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Public Health, or related field.
- Knowledge of infant and child development and early childhood programs and services, with an emphasis on home visiting.
- Experience facilitating and navigating systems-level work at the community and state level.
- Experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities and families.
- Knowledge of home visiting programs and local early childhood systems.
- Knowledge and flexibility in approach to administration, program needs and problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, writing skills to communicate concepts, ideas and information to persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent understanding of community resources and current community needs
- Public speaking experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile or other reliable transportation
- Ability to develop and maintain a strong resource network
- Respect and regard for all families and a willingness to meet all parents where they are
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis, relating to child abuse and neglect
- Knowledge of, and/or experience with child abuse, child protection, and the court system is preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- May be required to travel for trainings and conferences
- May be required to work weekends and evenings when necessary
- Other duties as required or assigned by the CEO and program supervision

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- 40 hours per week worked in-person at Voices for Children Advocacy Center. Generally worked Monday through Friday. Some additional evenings and weekends may be required.
- Occasional driving for Center business
- A trauma-informed environment with clients in crisis situations.
- Physical requirements include ability to sit for long periods of time in a typical office environment and light lifting of up to 25 pounds
Other Requirements: In accordance with policies stated in the agency Personnel Policies and Recruitment, Hiring, Onboarding, and Separation policies, Voices for Children must conduct a thorough background clearance on all employees and contractors who interact with minors at their hire but no more than six (6) months prior to their first day of work with minors and on a periodic ongoing basis.

Any person working with minors who has lived, worked, or gone to school in a state or states other than Michigan any time in the past five (5) years is required to submit sufficient historical information to allow Voices for Children to conduct similar background clearances in all states of residence during the prior five (5) year period.
