Job Summary
We are currently seeking energetic, reliable Photography Assistants to join our school photography team. (This is not a photographer position.)
This position begins in late August 2026 and continues through the first or second week of December 2026. Applicants must be available and committed for the entire Fall 2026 season. Because continuity is important to our schools and team, individuals who cannot commit to the full season should not apply. This is a seasonal, part-time contract role ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income.
There are no weekend or holiday commitments. This position is not intended for year-round contract work. Please apply only if you are seeking seasonal contract work. Strong-performing contractors may be invited to return each season based on availability and performance.
Images 4 Kids Austin specializes in preschool, daycare, and private school photography. We focus on making picture day fun, fast, and stress-free while delivering studio-quality images and excellent customer service.
We service Austin and surrounding areas.
This role is a great fit for substitute teachers, aftercare teachers, professional babysitters/nannies, early childhood workers, stay-at-home parents, empty nesters, photography interns, and anyone who truly enjoys working with young children.
Typical work hours start between 7:00 AM–7:30 AM (depending on school) and usually finish by 12:00 PM.
Starting pay: $18.50 per hour
What We’re Looking For
We are strongly seeking candidates who:
- Have experience working with infants and young children (ages 0–5 preferred)
- Are energetic, happy, patient, and nurturing (Must smile and be happy and have a great attitude)
- Are comfortable engaging with children and helping create genuine smiles
- Are reliable, punctual, and professional
- Communicate well and work well in a team environment
- Can follow direction and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry at least 25–40 lbs (equipment and occasional child assistance)
- Able to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and get up/down repeatedly throughout the day
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience working with children or infants
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check
- Comfortable working in multiple school locations
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and breaking down photography equipment and backdrops
- Help pose and guide children for photos
- Support photographers during sessions to keep picture day running smoothly
- Provide gentle care and supervision of children during sessions
- Keep equipment and shooting areas organized
- Communicate with team members and school staff as needed
