Paraeducator: Special Education (Severe/High Needs) – Nibley Elementary School
Position Overview Seeking a dedicated, professional, and reliable Paraeducator/Aide to join a high-functioning Special Education team. This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about student advocacy and committed to fostering a respectful, high-achievement learning environment.
As the classroom teacher, I am looking for an aide who takes pride in their work ethic, professionalism, and understands that consistency and a positive attitude are the foundations of student success. We are building a culture where every staff member is a valued contributor to our students' growth, and where students with severe disabilities can learn at high levels!
Compensation & Schedule
- Rate: $16.40 per hour
- Hours: 29.5 hours per week (May vary based on the needs of the classroom.)
- Shift: Standard hours are M–F, 8:50 AM – 3:35 PM. (May vary based on the needs of the classroom.)
- Flexibility: While a full-week schedule is preferred, I am open to discussing specific AM/PM shifts or a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule for the right candidate.
- Timeline: Position starts mid-end of August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic & Behavioral Support: Implement individualized instructional plans to help students meet their academic goals.
- Inclusion Advocacy: Support students within general education settings, facilitating meaningful communication and socialization with their peers.
- Daily Care Assistance: Provide essential support for student hygiene, feeding, and toileting with professionalism and care.
- Classroom Operations: Assist with instructional preparation, including laminating, cutting, and organizing materials to ensure a high-quality learning environment.

- Physical Capability: Must be able to safely lift 45 lbs and engage in the physical demands of a high-needs classroom.
- Collaborative Spirit: A proactive "jump-in" approach to tasks and a commitment to maintaining a positive, solution-oriented atmosphere.
- Professional Alignment & Teacher Support: As a core member of the classroom team, you will work in direct partnership with the lead teacher. We require an individual who demonstrates professional maturity, follows instructional leadership with a collaborative spirit, and maintains a respectful, unified front to ensure a stable and successful learning environment for our students. An individual who is committed to supporting the teacher’s instructional vision and values professional feedback.
