Summary
Journey ABA is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team as a BCBA – Assessor. This unique role is designed for a BCBA who enjoys conducting comprehensive behavioral assessments and developing individualized treatment recommendations without carrying an ongoing caseload. The BCBA – Assessor serves as the first clinical touchpoint for prospective clients, conducting initial assessments, collaborating with families, and ensuring each client begins services with a high-quality, individualized treatment plan.
This position requires travel throughout the Eastern Massachusetts region to conduct in-home assessments and provides an excellent opportunity for a BCBA who enjoys variety, independence, and building strong clinical foundations for clients entering ABA services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial ABA assessments for prospective clients in home and community settings.
- Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other clinical evaluations as appropriate.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical recommendations.
- Administer and score standardized assessment tools as needed.
- Conduct caregiver interviews to gather developmental, behavioral, and medical history.
- Collaborate with the Intake, Operations, and Clinical teams to facilitate timely service initiation.
- Ensure all assessment documentation, treatment plans, and authorizations are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain compliance with BACB Ethics Code, insurance requirements, and company standards.
- Communicate assessment findings and treatment recommendations to caregivers in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and company trainings.
Qualifications
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) credential or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.
- Experience conducting behavioral assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Strong clinical writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable working independently while managing a flexible schedule.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Eastern Massachusetts region to complete client assessments.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of automobile insurance required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assessments.
- Experience using electronic medical records and Rethink is preferred.
- Willingness to learn Frontera AI for initial assessment reporting support or previous knowledge of Frontera preferred
