Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and highly organized Administrative Assistant / Intake Coordinator for hospice to join our growing hospice team in Anchorage.
This role serves as the first point of contact for families, referral sources, and healthcare providers, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable speaking with individuals who may be experiencing end-of-life situations. Our hospice team is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to patients and families during one of life’s most important transitions.
The Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting admissions, managing phone calls, coordinating referrals, and providing administrative support to the hospice team. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow with our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls from families, referral sources, and healthcare providers
- Communicate compassionately with individuals dealing with end-of-life situations, death, and dying
- Coordinate and process new hospice referrals and admissions
- Maintain organized and accurate records and documentation
- Assist with scheduling and general administrative tasks
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff and management
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Provide general office support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional phone etiquette
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized
- Compassionate and comfortable speaking with families during difficult times
- Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn and grow with the company
- Healthcare or hospice experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 1-hour lunch break

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
