American Exchange is a growing health insurance enrollment and employee benefits organization that supports individuals, employers, public programs, and community partners with health insurance enrollment, benefits administration, and ongoing account support. As we continue expanding our employer group benefits division, we are looking for an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to help support ICHRA quoting, traditional group benefits marketing, carrier coordination, proposal development, and client service.
Position Overview
The Employee Benefits Account Manager will support the growth and day-to-day operations of American Exchange’s employer benefits division. This role will work closely with leadership, producers, carrier partners, and internal enrollment teams to quote Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements, market traditional group benefits, prepare client proposals, and provide responsive service to employer clients.
This is a fully remote position ideal for someone with strong employee benefits experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple quoting, renewal, and implementation workflows at the same time.
Key Responsibilities
ICHRA Quoting and Individual Market Support
- Assist with quoting and proposal development for Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements.
- Review employee census data, contribution strategies, employee classes, affordability considerations, and plan availability.
- Help compare individual market plan options by carrier, premium, deductible, network, prescription drug coverage, and overall employer/employee cost.
- Support the preparation of clear employer-facing ICHRA proposals and employee education materials.
- Coordinate with internal enrollment teams to help ensure a smooth transition from quoting to implementation.
Traditional Group Benefits Marketing
- Market and quote traditional group medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other ancillary benefit plans.
- Prepare carrier quote requests, manage census submissions, and follow up with carrier representatives and general agencies.
- Analyze carrier proposals and summarize plan options, contribution strategies, cost differences, and key plan design features.
- Assist with renewal reviews, alternative plan marketing, and employer recommendation packages.
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, proposals, carrier responses, and renewal activity.
Account Management and Client Service
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned employer benefits clients.
- Respond to employer questions regarding plan options, renewals, eligibility, enrollment, billing, employee changes, and carrier processes.
- Coordinate open enrollment timelines, employee communication materials, and implementation checklists.
- Track outstanding client, carrier, and internal follow-up items to ensure work is completed timely and accurately.
- Help resolve service issues by working with carriers, brokers, enrollment partners, and internal team members.
Compliance and Documentation
- Support documentation related to affordability, employer contributions, ICHRA plan setup, group eligibility, and renewal decisions.
- Maintain organized client files, quote documentation, plan summaries, carrier correspondence, and enrollment materials.
- Assist with process improvement as American Exchange builds scalable workflows for ICHRA and employer group benefits.
- Stay current on employee benefits trends, ACA rules, ICHRA requirements, carrier guidelines, and market changes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of employee benefits account management, agency, broker, carrier, or general agency experience preferred.
- Experience quoting or servicing group medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability plans.
- Familiarity with ICHRA, QSEHRA, ACA individual market plans, employer contribution strategies, or affordability calculations is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of plan designs, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, networks, prescription drug benefits, and carrier quoting processes.
- Ability to review census data and prepare clean, accurate proposal summaries.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, CRM systems, quoting tools, carrier portals, and benefits administration platforms.
- Active health and life insurance license preferred, or willingness to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented employee benefits professional who understands both the technical and service sides of account management. This person should be comfortable working with census files, carrier proposals, contribution models, and client-facing benefit summaries. They should also be able to communicate clearly with employers, carriers, and internal teams while helping American Exchange build a strong, scalable employee benefits division.
Compensation and Work Environment
- Fully remote position.
- Competitive salary range of $55,000 to $68,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Full-time position.
- Benefits available after 90 days of employment.
