Job Title: House Mover / Construction Laborer Full-Time
About Us: DeVooght House & Building Movers specializes in physically relocating and lifting entire houses and structures. We’re looking for hardworking, mechanically-minded laborers to join our crew for this specialized and physically demanding work.
Job Description: As a House Mover, you’ll be part of a crew that lifts, cribs, and transports entire structures from one location to another. This is heavy construction-style work involving steel beams, hydraulic jacks, cribbing, and dollies — not household packing or furniture handling.
Responsibilities Assist in preparing structures for relocation (foundation separation, beam placement, cribbing) Operate and support the use of hydraulic jacks, dollies, and steel support beams Use hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, etc.) to prep and secure structures Build and adjust cribbing to support structures at various heights Work safely around heavy equipment and structural loads Follow site safety protocols and supervisor instructions closely Help load/secure structures for transport when applicable Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Requirements: Some experience in construction, house moving, or heavy structural work preferred Comfortable using basic hand tools (wrenches, drills, saws, levels, etc.) in a construction setting Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in physically demanding conditions Valid driver’s license preferred Comfortable working at heights and around heavy machinery Strong attention to safety, teamwork, and following instructions. Reliable transportation to our Yard.
