Glendora Employment Agency, Inc. is a boutique staffing firm located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley. We specialize in connecting local employers with local talent. We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a gynecology office in San Dimas.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for appointments.
- Take and document patient vital signs.
- Administer vaccinations as directed by the physician.
- Assist the physician with Pap smears and other in-office procedures.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions under supervision.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Update, maintain, and file patient records and medical documents.
- Set up, clean, and stock exam rooms.
- Sterilize medical instruments and maintain infection control standards.
- Label laboratory specimens and order medical supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills/qualifications demonstrated through previous work experience:
- Must possess a current Medical Assistant certification.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Experience taking vital signs and administering vaccinations.
- Experience with paper charting and maintaining accurate handwritten patient records.
- Must have near, legible penmanship and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical procedures.
- Strong customer service and patient care skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Position Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. Tuesday from 8:00am – 2:00pm. Friday from 8:00am – 12:00pm. (32-34 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour during training, then $20.00/hour after training.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
