Our Bus Aides provide critical support to our school transport drivers by assisting their efforts to ensure safe and reliable transport for the students entrusted to our care, to and from school.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Know the route and remain alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while enroute. Keep order on the bus.
- Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver.
- Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents, and students.
- Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks.
- Assist, as necessary, students in the loading and unloading process.
- Attend all safety and training meetings.
- Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door. May also require physical removal of disabled child from the bus.
- Assist driver in completion of required paperwork for the district, state and Rohrer Bus.
- Clean the inside of the bus, including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning windows.
- Other specialized functions as required by contract.

WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid state I.D.
- Must be able to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
- Must be able to present themselves in a clean and professional manner and provide reliable and courteous service.
- Must be able to complete required paperwork.
- Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit vehicle and climb out of emergency exits.
- Must be able to withstand working in varying conditions, including indoors and outdoors and extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must be available for morning and afternoon drive times during the school year.
