Position: Hotel Revenue Manager
Location: Downtown New Orleans, Louisiana
Reports to: Director of Sales
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Hotel Revenue Manager with expert-level knowledge of the New Orleans hospitality market. This position will lead pricing, forecasting, inventory, distribution, and business-mix strategies to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall profitability.
The Revenue Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales and work closely with the DOS on revenue, pricing, distribution, and business-development strategy. The successful candidate must have both:
- Direct hotel revenue management experience.
- Extensive professional experience in the New Orleans hotel market.
Candidates who do not meet both requirements should not apply. This is not an entry-level revenue, reservations, sales, or general hotel operations position. Direct experience managing hotel room revenue is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and long-term revenue strategies.
- Work with the Director of Sales to align revenue strategy with sales goals, account production, group opportunities, and overall commercial objectives.
- Manage pricing, availability, restrictions, and inventory across all booking channels.
- Maximize revenue from wholesale, transient, direct, OTA, group, and other applicable segments.
- Analyze booking pace, pickup, demand patterns, booking windows, cancellations, and channel performance.
- Build accurate occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and revenue forecasts.
- Monitor the New Orleans competitive set, citywide demand, conventions, festivals, sporting events, concerts, holidays, and other market conditions.
- Use expert knowledge of the New Orleans market to identify compression dates, need periods, pricing opportunities, and potential risks.
- Review market-share data, competitive pricing, historical performance, and forward-looking demand.
- Ensure rate and inventory accuracy across the PMS, CRS, channel manager, GDS, OTAs, and wholesale distribution platforms.
- Prepare revenue reports, forecasts, performance analyses, and strategic recommendations.
- Participate in regular strategy meetings with the Director of Sales and property leadership.
- Collaborate with Sales, Reservations, Operations, and General Management to ensure revenue strategies are properly communicated and executed.
- Adjust pricing, inventory, and business-mix strategies as market conditions change.
Required Qualifications
- Direct hotel revenue management experience is required.
- Expert-level knowledge of the New Orleans hotel market is required.
- Proven experience managing hotel room revenue, pricing, inventory, and distribution.
- Strong background in wholesale and transient business.
- Demonstrated experience with forecasting, pace analysis, demand management, and competitive-set analysis.
- Experience working with hotel PMS, CRS, channel management, GDS, OTA, and revenue management systems.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret performance data and make decisive, commercially sound recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the Director of Sales and property leadership.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with a downtown New Orleans hotel, condotel, boutique hotel, or independent property.
- Knowledge of New Orleans conventions, festivals, sports, entertainment, leisure, corporate, and group demand patterns.
- Experience balancing wholesale base business with higher-rated transient demand.
- Proven ability to improve ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, profitability, and overall business mix.
