Position Summary
CrossFit Seadog South is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and community focused CrossFit Coach to deliver exceptional coaching experiences for athletes of all fitness levels. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping people improve their health, fitness, and confidence while fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and results-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safe, engaging, and professionally coached CrossFit group classes.
- Teach proper movement mechanics and provide effective demonstrations, cueing, and corrections.
- Scale workouts appropriately to meet the needs of beginners through advanced athletes.
- Prioritize athlete safety, movement quality, and overall member experience.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and motivating atmosphere during every class.
- Build meaningful relationships with members and contribute to the strong CrossFit Seadog South community.
- Arrive prepared by reviewing daily programming and class plans before each session.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment before and after classes.
- Assist with onboarding new members through foundations or introductory sessions.
- Promote member retention through exceptional coaching and personalized support.
- Participate in gym events, competitions, and community outreach activities.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches to maintain consistent coaching standards and continuous improvement.
- Attend staff meetings and ongoing educational opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
- CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) Certification (minimum)
- Current CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain before employment)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, professional, and punctual
- Passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals
Preferred
- CrossFit Level 2 (CF-L2) or higher
- Personal Training Certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, etc.)
- Previous CrossFit coaching experience
- Experience coaching Olympic lifting, gymnastics, endurance, or specialty classes
- Nutrition coaching certification
- Skills & Competencies
- Ability to teach, see, and correct movement effectively
- Excellent class management and time management
- Positive leadership and motivational coaching style
- Ability to adapt coaching to athletes of varying abilities
- Strong customer service mindset
- Team-oriented with a growth mindset
- Comfortable providing constructive feedback and receiving coaching
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrate functional movements safely and effectively
- Lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Stand and coach for extended periods
- Work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events as needed
