Cove 2 Coast Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Technician to join our growing service team. The ideal candidate is passionate about boating, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rigging, and maintaining boats and marine systems across the brands we carry throughout our South Carolina and Georgia locations. Cove 2 Coast Marine operates multiple locations and carries brands including Tahoe Pontoons, Tidewater, HCB Yachts, Carolina Skiff, War Eagle, Sea Fox, and Avalon Pontoons.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, steering, and marine systems
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, lower unit service, impeller replacement, winterization, and rigging
- Troubleshoot and repair outboard engines, electrical systems, gauges, pumps, and marine accessories
- Install marine electronics, trolling motors, shallow water anchors, stereo systems, lighting, and accessories
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new boats
- Perform water testing and sea trials as needed
- Complete warranty repair work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain accurate repair orders, documentation, and time records
- Communicate clearly with Service Advisors and customers regarding repairs and recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with yard operations and boat movement when necessary
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on marine outboard engines such as Mercury, Yamaha, and Suzuki preferred
- Experience with fiberglass boats, pontoons, bay boats, center consoles, and aluminum boats
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems and diagnostics
- Understanding of trailer systems and repairs is a plus
- Previous dealership or marine service experience preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Marine technician certification preferred but not required
- Ability to diagnose and repair marine systems independently
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in indoor/outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to operate forklifts and trailers is a plus
