Major Responsibilities
- Must be willing to travel between Alliance (Keller) and Decatur locations.
- Prepare patient charts by collecting necessary records.
- Bring patients to exam room and take vitals.
- Interview patients and document reason for visit and medical history
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Ensure necessary supplies are readily available.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Typing skills with a speed of at least 40-50 wpm
- EMR experience is required. Experience with Athena Health is a plus
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Degree in medical assistance
