Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Railcar Transloader to join our team in Rochester. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently transferring bulk materials between railcars and storage facilities, ensuring safety, accuracy, and adherence to transportation regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment while supporting essential rail operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload railcars using industrial equipment such as conveyors, hoppers, and manual handling tools.
- Operate railway engineering equipment with precision to facilitate efficient transloading processes.
- Use ladders and climbing techniques safely for access to elevated areas of railcars or loading platforms.
- Follow all transportation safety regulations, including air brake protocols and heavy lifting procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of railcars and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and mechanical integrity.
- Maintain accurate records of transloading activities, including materials transferred and equipment used.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate the movement of railcars within the yard efficiently.
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks consistently.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment used in rail transportation operations..
- Ability to climb ladders safely and work at heights as needed during transloading activities.
- Strong understanding of railway operations, including railcar handling and safety procedures.
