We are seeking a Class A Driver with HazMat Endorsement / Warehouse Operator to join our Chemical Distribution / Waste Management team! You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
To be considered:
- 2 years + current CA Class A Driver's License with current work experience in California.
- HazMat & Tanker Endorsements required.
- 10 Speed Manual Transmission experience required.
- Tanker Driver experience highly preferred.
- Prior Warehouse / Forklift experience; willingness to work as part of our Warehouse team as requested and needed.
- Ability to successful pass a CA DOJ/FBI Controlled Chemical Industry LIVE SCAN.
- Stable work history a MUST for consideration.
Responsibilities - Class A Driver:
- Transports chemical freight deliveries locally according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
- Provides basic maintenance for vehicle such as maintaining vehicle in a neat manner and performing minor repairs.
- Maintains company fuel credit cards, and valid/current proof of insurance, registration and all required permits in vehicle.
- Ensures proper maintenance of vehicle and reports all accidents/damage/malfunctions to management.
- Prepares a daily delivery schedule and coordinates efficient deliveries by applying knowledge or customer schedules, peak delivery times and alternate routes.
- Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to size of load and content description.
- Processes shipment documents neatly and efficiently for each shipment and manages discrepancy documentation.
- Obtains and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation and submits in a timely manner.
- Provides exceptional customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company’s image.
- Performs a daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection according to checklist and always keeps an accurate copy in the vehicle.
- Uses Company Electronic logging system and if there are issues will use a daily, legible DOT logbook and submits as required. (Training to be provided).
- Picks up merchandise and invoices from warehouse/vendors.
- Delivers merchandise to customers in a timely manner.
- Requests empty containers from all customers.
- Ensures delivery of appropriate merchandise in accordance with customer bill of lading.
- Delivers bulk products safely, properly and in the correct tank.
- Proper handling and use of bulk tankers
- Deliver mini bulk via mini bulk trailers using proper techniques and safety protocol.
- Proper use of truck mounted and portable pumps and hoses.
- Deliver product to correct tanks using compatible hoses and pumps.
- Fills delivery orders by obtaining the required merchandise and completing appropriate paperwork.
- Provides customer with receipt and/or credit form for merchandise to be picked up.
- Assists with stocking the shipping and receiving department to include lifting and carrying and placing them on appropriate shelves.
- Ensures customer messages/communications are relayed to appropriate management.
- Returns credit merchandise with appropriate paperwork and informs management of delivery.
Responsibilities - Warehouse:
- Pulls product for work orders and blends and loads, labels and packages as necessary and completes all a required paperwork.
- Assist in Railcar unloading into bulk tanks, tankers, totes or drums.
- Returns raw materials to proper location after blend and updates inventory.
- Maneuvers heavy materials with the use of sit down or stand-up forklift, pallet and hand truck as required.
- Maintains and ensures all machines are functioning according to established work standards.
- Maintains warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Assists in shipping and receiving functions and completes all required paper.
- Execute in the receipt and delivery of all incoming/outgoing shipments daily.
- Execute in the distribution and put-away of all inventory to their proper warehouse locations daily.
- Execute in cycle counting according to MCCI standards in terms of frequency and quantity.
- Execute in the resolution of inventory discrepancies, investigate & correct deviations.
- Execute in quarantine, returns and waste management areas and work towards resolving outstanding issues.
- Report warehouse facility safety issues and the organization of material issues immediately.
- Operates heavy equipment (Forklift; reach and sit down, pumps, hoses, valves, scales, etc.) safely.
- Ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality department operations.
- Documenting, verifying, and maintaining shipping & receiving logs and other records daily.
- Communicate openly with upper management.
- Observes safety requirements set forth by company.
- Adhere to all S.O.P.'s, work instructions and daily checklists.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in truck driving dealing with Hazardous Materials (min 2 years).
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (California) with all endorsements (required).
- Current HazMat Endorsement (required).
- 10 speed manual transmission experience required.
- Air Brake Certified (required).
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
- Forklift Certification preferred.
- FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Complies with company policies and procedures, giving special attention to safety regulations.
