Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal structures and parts, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding of metal components.
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances during fabrication.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal, pipe threading, and other metal materials.
- Fabricate metal parts by cutting, welding, grinding, soldering, and assembling according to specifications while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop while following safety procedures related to equipment operation and material handling.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and ensure fabrication meets quality standards under strict deadlines.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of on-site fabrication needs.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and welding standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, technical sketches, and interpret mechanical blueprint details accurately.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills for precise measurement calculations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including pipe threading, machining operations, assembly techniques, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is a plus.
- Experience working with metal materials such as steel, aluminum, sheet metal components for structural or industrial applications.
- Knowledge of safety protocols including proper use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, soldering equipment, and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Strong mechanical fabrication skills combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately under tight schedules.
