Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Underground Electrical Utility Crew Foreman/Excavator Operator to lead and oversee underground electrical projects within the utility sector. This role requires experience in operating excavators, a strong background in construction management, site supervision, and technical expertise in electrical systems, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction site experience, supervisory skills, and familiarity with industry-standard management and scheduling software. This position offers an opportunity to manage complex underground electrical installations, coordinate teams, and ensure projects adhere to specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise underground electrical utility construction crews on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to underground electrical systems.
- Manage daily operations on the construction site, including resource allocation, equipment usage, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety standards; conduct safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
- Oversee quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
- Monitor project progress against schedules.
- Collaborate with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Manage contracts, change orders, and documentation related to project scope and progress.
Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of operating mini-excavators and installing underground electrical conduit.
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on underground electrical utility projects.
- Strong supervisory skills with previous supervising experience on large-scale construction sites.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract management processes.
- Expertise in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system installation techniques.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety.
- Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics related to underground pipelines and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination among teams and stakeholders. This role is integral to the successful delivery of underground electrical utility projects requiring leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Pay: From $33.00 per hour
