We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing excellent customer service. This role involves transporting individuals, including children, seniors, and those requiring special assistance, to their destinations in a timely manner. A strong emphasis on communication and behavior management is essential to create a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van according to established routes and schedules.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Manage behavior of passengers, particularly children or those with special needs, to ensure a safe environment.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the appropriate authorities.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver is preferred.
- Previous experience in childcare, senior care, or customer service is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with paratransit services is a plus.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with passengers of all ages.
- Ability to manage behavior in a professional manner while maintaining a positive atmosphere for all passengers.
- Must pass background checks and any required training certifications related to driving and passenger safety.
