JOB A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park’s existing operational success. The purpose of the position is to ensure that all building maintenance work is completed at the Convention Center and Gateway Center Arena. Successful performance contributes to the efficient and effective maintenance of all Convention Center and Gateway Center facilities. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Independent judgment is required to identify, select and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures as well as interpret precedents. This position is responsible for technical skilled work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, and related maintenance and repair activities.

Provides on-site coordination/consultation with, and communication to, outside contractors regarding the location and repair of systems and structures bordering the area involved in the contract work.

Installs, repairs, and replaces doors, windows, and building hardware.

Assembles, installs, repairs, and/or fabricates institutional furnishings and equipment.

Performs rough and finish carpentry and plastering/drywall of buildings.

Provides mechanical service for trade shows.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Three (3) years of experience in building maintenance.

Possession of a valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in communicating with diverse communities, and in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.

Extensive hours and weekends will be required at times.
