JOB OPPORTUNITY
Position: Real Estate Appraiser/ Clerk
Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday
Location: 231 Main Street, Chardon, Ohio
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Qualifications: High school diploma
Real Estate appraisal: 2 year preferred
Currently Licensed or Certified Appraiser preferred
Duties/Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Real Estate Appraiser shall include, but are not limited to the following:
* Professionally represent the Geauga County Auditor to property owners and other members of the public.
* Accurately record property characteristics. square footage, angles, sketches, and dimensions on appropriate filed documents and /or electronically to ensure that property records reflect current and accurate property characteristics in the CAMA system.
* Measure and inspect residential, agricultural, and commercial properties to ensure that property records reflect current and accurate property characteristics.
* Have a basic understanding of how to gather cost and sales information, and assist in the sales verification process as needed.
* Communicate effectively with the public and follow up on any property owner issues.
* Assist with the Board of Revision / Tax Appeals as needed.
* Help with annual new construction, measure/list and general processing.
* Strong math and analytical skills to calculate square footage, and similar functions.
* Performs daily property transfers
*Maintains vendor licenses
* Provides property information
* Perform other such duties and responsibilities as are, from time to time, assigned by the Auditor.
This position requires an organized, self-motivated candidate with good communication and people skills, aptitude with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work well with a team.
This Real Estate Appraiser position is a fiduciary position under Ohio Revised Code Section 124.11, paragraphs A (4) (9), unclassified service. All candidates are subject to background check.
