Job Description:

- Admits, floor calls IHP is actively seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our hospitalist team. This position offers a flexible schedule with mid and night shift availability, ideal for PAs eager to enhance their expertise in hospital medicine. We provide comprehensive training for those new to the hospitalist specialty, ensuring a smooth transition and successful integration into our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed History and Physical examinations in partnership with attending physicians.
- Manage the continuous care of assigned inpatients, overseeing admissions, treatments, and discharges.
- Night Coverage assisting with admissions
- Administer medications and adjust treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Position Requirements:
- Valid PA license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Open to both experienced PAs and new graduates looking to specialize in hospitalist medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, dedicated to enhancing patient care.

Schedule:
- Flexible mixed shifts, incorporating both mid and night coverage.
- Day and nights mix of a block schedule
- 15 shifts per month, designed to support work-life balance.
Physical Demands:
This physician/APP role requires stamina in fast-paced healthcare: prolonged standing/walking (8-12 hrs/shift); rapid emergency movement (sprints, crowds); lifting/carrying 25-50 lbs equipment; pushing/pulling 100 lbs (beds/carts) with aid; frequent bending/stooping/kneeling for care; constant reaching/fine motor skills (suturing/IVs); occasional climbing/balancing; tolerating stressors (temps, noise, fluids, hazards) during irregular shifts/on-call/infection risks—accommodations for disabilities; varies by setting (clinic/ER).
- Competent in doing H&P's in collaboration with the attending physicians.
- Provide and document continuity care of assigned in-patients,
- Do appropriate discharges and care transitions.
- Initiate and manage appropriate medication within the scope of practice.
Required Education and Experience:
- Physician assistant licensed in Pennsylvania.
- Or ability to obtain licensure
- BLS and ACLS certification.
