JOB Full-time 911 Dispatcher position. Starting Wage is $26.68-28.04 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus regular step increases. Position is 40 hours per week, rotating schedule. Progressive wage scale and fringe benefits are included. $1/hour shift differential for night shift and $2/hour for training officers. This job requires the availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 911 Dispatchers work 12-hour shifts. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES DESCRIPTION: Sheriff Dispatchers are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services county-wide. Dispatchers determine nature and location of emergency, priority, dispatches the appropriate agencies in accordance with well-established agency policies and procedures, provides detailed call information to responding units, maintains status and awareness of all unit locations and maintains a log of all aforementioned information. Dispatchers assist the public in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. Dispatchers perform inquiries and criminal history checks for law enforcement county-wide through NCIC and NCJIS systems, collects statistical data for reports, and updates and ensures the accuracy of the database. Dispatchers operate the TIME System and other databases. Dispatchers enter, clear, maintain and validate agency warrants, coordinate efforts with other agencies and maintain statistics on warrants and extraditions.
