About the job:
At ChemResearch, the Maintenance Helper will be a member of our current Maintenance team and is responsible for working with our facility teams to assist and execute maintenance procedures and projects. Under close supervision, performs various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in connection with the maintenance of the plating facility.
Essential Duties

Works on job duties and assignments as they relate to maintenance, repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and any other maintenance duties as needed.

Assists the maintenance team with preventative maintenance and other aspects of the job.

Assists with performing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing operations.

May assist with start-up and shut-down functionality on plant equipment and facilities as required.

Workings safely at all times in compliance with OSHA/EPA regulations

Participate in the handling, labeling, containment, and disposal of hazardous waste.

Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Work Environment:
-
Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heaving carts, seasonal high temperature, and humidity levels, working at heights, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).

Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.

Potential splash exposure near process lines.

Various chemicals are used in process areas.
Qualifications:
-
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 / 12 hours.

Ability to hear.
-
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and abide by rules.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to stoop and bend, use arms and hands.

Experience in the metal finishing industry is helpful but not required.

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Willingness to work around chemicals using appropriate safety equipment.

Must wear steel toe boots as part of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
