Production Manager

Compensation: $120,000-$138,000 per year
About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations in a metal-forming and press environment. This hands-on role owns daily production, operational performance, safety, quality, customer delivery, productivity, and cost. The Production Manager will lead production supervisors and manufacturing personnel, partner closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, and provide flexible support to off-shift operations as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules using MRP systems to meet customer demand and delivery commitments.
- Lead metal-forming, stamping, press, fabrication, and related manufacturing operations.
- Drive continuous improvement using 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and SMED to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Own and improve On-Time Delivery, OEE, scrap and rework, labor efficiency, productivity, and production cost.
- Ensure products meet engineering specifications and quality standards while minimizing scrap and rework.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop production supervisors and manufacturing personnel.
- Build a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Enforce safety policies and regulatory requirements through audits, observations, and incident investigations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams on process improvements and new-product introductions.
- Analyze production data and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and capital investments.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of manufacturing experience.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing leadership or management experience.
- Experience in metal forming, stamping, fabrication, press operations, machining, or a closely transferable high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong production planning, capacity-management, and production-scheduling experience.
- Applied Lean/continuous-improvement experience, including 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and/or SMED.
- Working knowledge of OTD, OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, productivity, and related manufacturing metrics.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and bills of materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
