SUMMARY
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for handling the checks and balances of all revenues received within the organization. They will interact with other departments to ensure tenant and subsidy payments, grant receipts, construction and development funding, donations and intercompany transactions are properly accounted for. The candidate will also review daily cash receipts and allocate payments against specific transactions within our consolidated group of multiple entities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up new clients in the Accounts Receivable system.
- Ensure proper posting of payments received.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices from all our affiliated group of entities to customers.
- Intercompany maintenance and property management billing.
- Initiate and post intercompany transfer requests.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements as needed.
- Reconcile property management system activity to the accounting system.
- Generate manual checks as needed.
- Process online payments.
- Support both consolidated and individual entity financial statement audits.
- Assist in month-end financial statement close.
- Other accounting projects, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field. required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, preferred.
- 1+ years accounting experience, including accounts receivable and general ledger, required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Office based environment where employee is frequently required to sit or stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional lifting of files or supplies up to 15 pounds.
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule.
