Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Sales Manager & Lead Trainer to oversee daily operations, actively train clients, and drive revenue growth within our fitness facility. This role is ideal for a passionate fitness professional who thrives on the gym floor, excels at personal training, and understands how to convert relationships into memberships, training and class packages.
The Fitness Manager will lead by example—training clients, mentoring staff, and owning the sales process from lead generation to close—while delivering an exceptional member experience and building a performance-driven culture.
Responsibilities of Leadership & Training
- Serve as a lead personal trainer, maintaining an active training schedule with clients.
- Design and deliver customized training programs aligned with member goals.
- Coach, mentor, and develop trainers to improve performance, client retention, and revenue generation.
- Lead team training sessions focused on sales skills, program knowledge, and customer experience.
- Oversee staff scheduling, supervision, and performance management.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Own and drive all sales initiatives, including memberships, and personal training/class packages.
- Convert leads into members and training clients through consultations, fitness assessments, and follow-ups.
- Establish and track sales goals, KPIs, and conversion metrics for the team.
- Implement promotional strategies and upselling techniques to maximize revenue.
- Actively engage members to increase retention, referrals, and lifetime value.
Operations & Administration
- Monitor budgets, revenue performance, and retail math to ensure profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and merchandising displays.
Member Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service that builds trust, loyalty, and long-term engagement.
- Foster a motivating, inclusive, and results-focused fitness environment.
- Communicate effectively with members in person, by phone, and digitally.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a personal trainer with strong sales performance.
- Demonstrated success selling memberships, training and class packages.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with hands-on coaching ability.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee training, and shift management.
- Proficiency in POS systems (Mindbody), inventory management, and basic bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of fitness programming, marketing strategies, and client retention tactics.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
