Bass Guitarist provides musical leadership on the drums and auxiliary percussions and will work with the Music Director, Lead Pastor and Associate Pastors to ensure order, structure, and harmony among all aspects of worship within the RCCG Arise Church.
Essential Functions
2. Work with a team of other musicians in the Arise Church rhythm section (drummer, bass player, and keyboard/piano musicians), small brass ensemble, and guest musicians.
3. Reports at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday morning, to get ready and band review for worship at 10.30 am.
4. Be prepared for and attend all scheduled band and/or choir rehearsals.
5. Support the church’s dynamic worship environment through well-prepared execution of all music that includes accurate leadership of hymns, praise & worship music, and other music offered by the choir and congregation.
6. Perform all other related duties and assignments as deemed necessary on required dates.
Competencies
1. Must have excellent sight-reading/chart-reading skills and the ability to play music representative of different genres: anthems, hymns, traditional gospel,
praise and worship, contemporary gospel, and other styles.
2. Follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a consultant position. Days and hours of work are Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., except during special programs and events during nights and weekends.
Rehearsal time to be decided by the music director.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma.
Four- Ten(4 - 10) years of experience working in music ministry as a bass guitarist.
Preferred Education and Experience
Degree in church music, music performance, music education, or other related field.
Degree or Advanced degree in Music, Worship, Education, and/or the Arts.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Clear background screens.
