We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service while managing the front desk operations of our dental clinic. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical and dental terminology, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks efficiently. The Dental Receptionist will be responsible for ensuring a smooth patient experience from scheduling appointments to managing medical records.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule and confirm appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, inquiries, and appointment requests.
- Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation review and filing of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.
- Provide clerical support such as typing correspondence, preparing care plans, and managing office supplies.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding treatment plans and office policies with professionalism.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
- Proficiency in EHR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information management practices.
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD coding) and billing processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette.
