POSITION SUMMARY:
The Equipment Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and DOT compliant transportation of material handling and floor cleaning equipment to customer sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All employees are required to support Forklifts of Minnesota’s vision, mission, and values. The following are essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or temporarily altered based on the business needs of Forklifts of Minnesota.
1. Safely operate DOT-regulated commercial vehicles to deliver and pick up material handling equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers, etc.) and floor cleaning equipment
2. Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment using proper safety procedures
3. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local DOT regulations, including hours of service rules
4. Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment
5. Communicate timelines, status, and issues to both the customer and, when necessary, to specific departments (e.g. Logistics, Service, Sales)
6. Ensure all delivered equipment is clean and functional
7. Obtain required signatures, delivery confirmations, and documentation
8. Address customer questions regarding delivered equipment, within the scope of the role
9. Recover equipment that does not run
10. Install and remove forklift batteries
11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the Company.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience
1. Valid Class A CDL with a HazMat Endorsement
2. Clean driving record meeting Company and insurance standards
3. Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics
4. 1-3 years of previous experience delivering material handling equipment, construction, or industrial equipment
5. Forklift certification (or the ability to obtain one)
Skills
1. Language:
a. Able to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy at all times to provide excellent customer service
b. Able to follow written and verbal directions
2. Math:
a. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, and percentages
3. Computer:
a. Able to perform basic PC functions
Abilities

Pay: $37.84 - $41.02 per hour
