Job Summary
Paveway Express is a growing transportation company based in Greenville, SC, specializing in dedicated automotive freight and shuttle operations throughout the Upstate. We operate a fleet of tractors, trailers, and yard equipment, and we're looking for an experienced, dependable Diesel Mechanic to help keep our equipment safe, compliant, and on the road.
We're seeking someone who takes pride in their work, can accurately diagnose and repair issues, and is comfortable handling everything from routine maintenance to major repairs. This position is ideal for a mechanic who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and seeing projects through from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Complete brake, suspension, driveline, and PTO repairs
- Perform engine-related repairs and component replacements
- Troubleshoot ABS systems, wheel seals, air leaks, and other equipment issues
- Diagnose and repair aftertreatment, DPF, DEF, and emissions-related systems
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant
- Handle both minor repairs and major repair projects
- Follow repair jobs through to completion with a high level of quality
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency repair situations when necessary
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
Requirements
- Strong diesel mechanic experience
- Extensive experience working on Freightliner tractors
- Strong knowledge of Detroit Diesel DD13 and Series 60 engines
- Must be highly familiar with aftertreatment systems, DEF systems, DPF regeneration issues, emissions diagnostics, and related repairs
- Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Solid mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right
- Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- CDL is strongly preferred but not required
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
