Insight Global is seeking a Project Scheduler to join a leading aviation manufacturing organization in Middle River, MD. This individual will play a critical role in driving project execution by developing, maintaining, and optimizing integrated project schedules across 12–15 concurrent manufacturing, production, and capital initiatives. Acting as a central coordination point across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Leadership teams, the Project Scheduler will ensure project timelines remain aligned with business objectives, key milestones, and production commitments.
The ideal candidate possesses strong scheduling expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This person will proactively identify schedule risks, analyze project dependencies, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide executive-level reporting to support informed decision-making and on-time project delivery. Success in this role requires the ability to balance competing priorities, coordinate multiple workstreams, and maintain schedule accuracy within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules across multiple concurrent manufacturing and capital projects.
- Coordinate project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across cross-functional teams.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule variances, bottlenecks, and potential delays.
- Conduct critical path analysis and assess project impacts related to scope, resource allocation, and production constraints.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings with project managers, business leaders, and operational stakeholders.
- Prepare schedule forecasts, progress updates, status reports, and executive dashboard reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop recovery plans and corrective actions when project timelines are at risk.
- Ensure alignment between project schedules, production schedules, resource plans, and organizational priorities.
- Serve as a key liaison between business units to resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain visibility into project performance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by implementing scheduling best practices and process enhancements.
Must-Haves:
- 4+ years of project scheduling experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, automotive, production, or other complex operational environments.
- Hands-on experience utilizing Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tools such as Oracle Primavera P6, Procore, Smartsheet, or similar project planning platforms.
- Experience managing schedules across 15+ simultaneous projects with overlapping timelines and dependencies.
- Proven ability to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules from project initiation through completion.
- Experience managing project interdependencies, milestone tracking, and cross-functional schedule alignment.
- Strong understanding of critical path methodology, schedule forecasting, and risk identification.
- Experience developing schedule recovery plans and recommending solutions to keep projects on track.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across multiple business units and leadership levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
- Familiarity with capital projects, facility expansions, production line implementations, or manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
- PMP, PMI-SP, or other project management/scheduling certifications.
- Experience creating executive-level dashboards, reports, and project health metrics.
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
