Sign Graphic Designer (Commercial Signage)

We are an established Electrical & Sign Company in Miami, Florida, seeking an experienced Sign Graphic Designer to join our team.
The ideal candidate has experience in the commercial sign industry and can manage projects from concept through design, permitting, production, and installation. They understand sign fabrication, mounting and installation methods, and can create code-compliant, production-ready designs while presenting ideas through professional 3D renderings and client presentations.
Portfolio Required

Responsibilities
- Design custom commercial signage, including illuminated signs, channel letters, monument signs, architectural signage, wayfinding, window graphics, banners, vehicle wraps, ADA signage, and custom branding.
- Create professional 3D renderings, presentation boards, and visual concepts for clients and the management team.
- Use AI design tools to develop, refine, and present creative concepts.
- Prepare permit-ready sign plans for municipal approval, including scaled elevations, dimensions, sign specifications, mounting details, installation methods, and construction details.
- Develop sign concepts that are practical, code-compliant, and ready for permitting and fabrication.
- Prepare production-ready artwork including vector files, print files, router/CNC files, color specifications, and fabrication details.
- Ensure all designs are optimized for fabrication, materials, lighting, structural requirements, and installation.
- Coordinate with project managers, fabrication, permitting, and installation teams.
- Meet with clients to understand project goals and develop creative design solutions.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial signage design experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating commercial signage projects is required.
- Proven experience preparing permit-ready outdoor sign plans.
- Ability to understand, prepare, and propose sign plans, including mounting methods, construction details, and installation techniques.
- Experience creating production-ready artwork for fabrication and large-format printing.
- Ability to create professional 3D renderings and presentation packages.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance design development and presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw (required); Photoshop required.
- Strong understanding of typography, branding, layout, color, sign fabrication, lighting, and large-format printing.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative. Rhino 3D, FlexiSIGN, SketchUp or other 3D visualization software is a plus.
- Experience in branding, logo design, and brand identity.
- Experience creating social media graphics and marketing materials.
- Knowledge of Florida sign codes and municipal permitting.
- Preferred experience operating large-format printers, laminators, plotters, or CNC equipment.
