Job Description:
Horizon Staffing Solutions is seeking motivated and compassionate Certified Teacher Assistants for the school year (2026-2027). In this role, you will support classroom teachers and help students-particularly those with special needs-reach their academic and personal goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
- Assist with classroom management and daily activities
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom equipment
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Follow IEPs and 504 Plans to meet student needs
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Teacher Assistant Certification (required)
- 6 months to 1 year of classroom experience preferred
- Experience working with special needs students is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, patient, and team-oriented
