Job Overview
Weekend Mobile Automotive Technician — A-Tech or B-Tech
Company: Johnny on the Go
Location: Orlando, Florida
Job Type: Part-Time / Weekend Position
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
Pay: $100–$240 per day, depending on verified skill level and experience, with potential tips
Johnny on the Go is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Weekend Mobile Automotive Technician to join our growing team. We are open to hiring either a qualified A-Level Technician or B-Level Technician, depending on the applicant’s verified professional experience and ability.
This is a mobile automotive repair position serving customers throughout the Orlando area. The technician must be comfortable working independently, communicating directly with customers, following dispatch instructions, and completing repairs without constant supervision.
We are looking for a true go-getter and problem-solver who takes pride in their work and knows when a repair can be completed independently and when a more involved job should be scheduled for the weekday team.
Required Schedule
Applicants must be available every:
- Friday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
The scheduled availability is from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. However, technicians are expected to finish any assigned job already in progress.
Technicians may not rush a repair, leave a job incomplete, or stop working simply because it is close to or past 6:30 PM. Any repair already underway must be completed safely, correctly, and professionally before leaving the customer’s location.
Technician Levels and Compensation
Final technician classification and daily pay will be based on proven professional experience, diagnostic ability, repair knowledge, independence, and the types of jobs the applicant can safely complete.
B-Level Technician
Pay: $100–$150 per day, based on experience and demonstrated abilities, plus potential tips once the applicable daily threshold is reached.
A B-Level Technician must be able to independently complete general maintenance, diagnostics, and common automotive repairs.
When a job is outside the technician’s capabilities, requires major disassembly, or requires two technicians, the B-Level Technician must properly document the findings and schedule the repair for the weekday lead technicians.
Examples may include:
- Evaporator core replacements
- Steering rack replacements that require two technicians
- Repairs requiring extensive disassembly
- Jobs that cannot be safely completed by one technician
- Repairs outside the technician’s verified skill level
The technician must recognize their limits and communicate honestly. Guessing, experimenting on customer vehicles, or continuing a repair beyond their professional abilities is not acceptable.
A-Level Technician
Pay: $200–$240 per day, based on experience and demonstrated abilities, plus potential tips once the applicable daily threshold is reached.
An A-Level Technician must be capable of taking the place of our primary weekday technicians and independently handling advanced diagnostics and major repairs.
An A-Level Technician should only need to reschedule or push back jobs that genuinely require two people, specialized shop equipment, or services that cannot be safely completed in a mobile environment.
Applicants considered for the A-Level position must demonstrate strong diagnostic abilities, broad repair experience, efficiency, and the ability to complete complex jobs correctly without regular assistance.
Daily Work Process
At the beginning of each scheduled day, the technician will:
- Report to the designated company location in the morning
- Pick up the assigned company service vehicle
- Inspect the vehicle and confirm that required equipment is present
- Turn on the company radio and remain available for communication
- Review any scheduled appointments or work orders
- Wait for dispatch and respond promptly when assigned a customer
- Travel to customer locations throughout the Orlando service area
- Complete required documentation, photos, findings, recommendations, and repair notes
- Return the company vehicle and equipment as instructed at the end of the shift
The technician must remain reachable by radio or phone throughout the workday and respond promptly to dispatch and management.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
