Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team for weekend coverage. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and acute care facilities. Your expertise in rehabilitation techniques and patient management will be essential in helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
- Provide direct patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients leaving therapy.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, home exercises, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with clinic policies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Stay updated on best practices in physical therapy, including knowledge of medical terminology and relevant physiologic principles.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience or familiarity with outpatient settings, orthopedics, geriatrics, and acute care is preferred.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic techniques, including trigger point therapy and discharge planning practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while demonstrating compassion for patients' needs.

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
