We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Cosmetology Instructor to join our education team. The ideal candidate is an experienced licensed cosmetologist who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping future beauty professionals build the technical skills and confidence they need to succeed in the industry.
As a Cosmetology Instructor, you will provide hands-on instruction, classroom education, and individualized guidance while maintaining a positive, professional, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in accordance with the school's curriculum and state requirements
- Demonstrate professional cosmetology techniques, including hair cutting, styling, coloring, chemical services, and other applicable services
- Supervise and support students during practical training and client services
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Prepare students for state board examinations and careers in the beauty industry
- Maintain accurate student attendance, performance, and educational records
- Promote professionalism, sanitation, safety, and proper workplace practices
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, products, and regulations
- Create an engaging and encouraging classroom environment
- Mentor students and help them develop confidence, professionalism, and client-service skills
- Collaborate with the education team to support student success
Qualifications
- Current Texas Cosmetology License in good standing
- Cosmetology experience with a strong understanding of current industry practices
- Cosmetology instructor license/certification as required by Texas regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring future beauty professionals
- Ability to demonstrate and explain technical skills clearly
- Reliable, professional, and organized
- Previous teaching or instructor experience is preferred but not required
