The Activities Music Assistant will coordinate activities with the Activities Director using music that will cater to a patient’s individual or group needs. The Music Assistant works with patients individually or in groups by encouraging them to play, listen, or move to music as part of their daily activity program. Music will be incorporated through the use of instrumental or vocal activities into a patient’s daily life to give them a feeling of accomplishment and feel that they have contributed to a piece of work with their own talent. The objective of a music assistant is to observe a patient’s physical or mental state and construct a plan involving music that will stimulate their mind and relax their body.
