We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Deck Builder to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in deck building, general/rough carpentry, framing, trim work, finish carpentry, and the installation or removal of pergola systems.
More importantly, the ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, pride in their craftsmanship, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and materials. We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, safety-minded, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Must possess a drive and hunger to get things done, with quality!
This position is a great fit for someone who wants to do more than simply complete the next project. We want someone who cares about the finished product, respects the customer’s home, supports their teammates, and takes ownership of their work.
Carpenter / Laborer Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical drawings.
Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
Cut materials to specified sizes for installation using power saws, hand saws, chisels, and other appropriate tools.
Assemble and fasten materials to form structures or finished products using nails, screws, adhesives, clamps, and other appropriate fasteners.
Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, and power tools.
Build and install outdoor decking systems.
Assist with the installation, modification, and removal of pergola systems.
Complete framing, trim work, and finish carpentry as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
Communicate professionally with project managers, team members, customers, and other trades.
Respect the customer’s home and property throughout the construction process.
Adapt to changing project needs, company processes, materials, and construction standards.
Take ownership of assigned work and help the team solve problems when challenges arise.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of professional carpentry experience required.
Deck-building experience required.
Experience with framing, trim work, or finish carpentry required.
Pergola installation or removal experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
Experience safely operating hand tools and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, organized, and able to adapt as project needs and company processes evolve.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to reliably commute to Arlington Heights, Illinois, required.
