Title: Financial Education Specialist
Employment: Full Time or Part Time
Hours: 30-40 Hours per week (schedule to be set upon hire, hours consistent each week)
Location: Cook or Mt. Iron, MN
Reports to: Resource Manager
Purpose:
Work to broaden financial education in the schools and communities we serve. Develop and implement a plan for new financial education opportunities for the credit union.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop, coordinate, and assist with financial education programs in local schools, including classroom presentations, student engagement activities, and age-appropriate financial education materials.
2. Organize, coordinate, and participate in youth financial education and school-based outreach initiatives, including activities such as I Love to Read Month and Credit Union Youth Month.
3. Lead and coordinate grade promotion communications by preparing and distributing information to staff and school contacts, including Mountain Iron-Buhl, North Woods, Nashwauk-Keewatin, and other future school contacts.
4. Initiate opportunities for additional community development partnerships.
5. Collaborate with community partners, including LSS, to identify and support financial education opportunities.
6. Be a visible presence in the local community and attend community events, including Family Fun Night, Timber Days, and Chamber events. Promote NSCU and maintain a strong image at business and community events to encourage business development.
7. Create and maintain strong relationships with school administrators.
8. Help promote and develop the student internship program.
9. Create or coordinate presentations on financial services to promote credit union products.
10. Assists in sourcing new educational content for website, presentations, podcasts, and social media platforms.
11. Travel to the schools and community events to promote financial education awareness.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related work experience.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Exceptional customer service.
· Strong understanding of credit union products.
· Ability to perform presentations to students and professionals.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
