Looking for Math, Language Arts, or Science Teachers for a small private school. The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing engaging and effective instructional plans for math, language arts, or science subjects. This role involves teaching students across different grade levels, fostering a supportive learning environment, and assessing student progress to ensure academic success.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Develop comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with the school's curriculum and educational standards for math, language arts, and science subjects.
Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Adapt instructional plans to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs of students.
Instructional Delivery:
Deliver engaging and interactive math and science lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific inquiry.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities, to facilitate student understanding and mastery of concepts.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, and tests to evaluate student learning and comprehension of math, language arts, and science concepts.
Analyze student performance data to identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and modify teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and academic achievement.
Implement classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior, manage student interactions, and address disciplinary issues effectively.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress, and communicate regularly with parents and school administrators regarding student performance.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in math, language arts, and science education, curriculum development, and instructional technology.
Collaborate with colleagues, attend workshops or conferences, and pursue additional certifications or advanced degrees as appropriate to enhance teaching skills and expertise.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, English, Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Valid teaching certification or license in math and/or science education (depending on state requirements).
Prior teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting, with a strong knowledge of math and science curriculum standards and instructional practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Passion for teaching and dedication to promoting student learning, academic excellence, and lifelong curiosity in math and science subjects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
