Applied Hydrogeologic Solutions, an environmental consulting firm specializing in the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated sites, is seeking a reliable individual to work as an environmental field technician. The technician will assist with field work and related office tasks. Starting salary will depend on experience. Relevant scientific degree may substitute for some experience (for example, geology, soil sciences, environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.). Training will be provided.
Must enjoy working outdoors and be available for frequent overnight travel.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Performing routine fieldwork such as operation and maintenance of remediation systems, groundwater sampling, and soil testing.
- Hand augering.
- Troubleshooting basic electrical or mechanical issues with remediation equipment.
- Calibrating and maintaining field equipment.
- Following regulatory rules for environmental testing.
- Driving to sites located throughout the state of Florida. Overnight stays will be required.
- Compiling detailed, legible and accurate written records of field activities.
- Physical labor as needed to complete fieldwork in various weather conditions, including, but not limited to, standing for long periods, and bending frequently
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to use a computer, including basic computer programs such as Excel and MS Word.
