We are actively seeking experienced Diesel Truck Technician position focused on field service for terminal tractors and fleet maintenance in Melrose Park, IL. Work includes diagnostics, minor repairs, and engine work (injector/turbo replacements) at customer locations within a 45-60 minute radius. Hybrid role combining field work and shop-based tasks. Modern, well-equipped facility with six double bays, mobile column lifts, and comprehensive diagnostic resources.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years diesel technician experience
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical issues
- Knowledge of engine fundamentals (overhead valve sets, EGR coolers, turbo systems, after-treatment)
- Ability to work independently in customer yards and warehouse environments
- Valid driver's license
- Willing to participate in ongoing training and certifications
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Cummins or Allison systems willingness to learn electric truck technology
Compensation & Benefits:
- Wage: $35$45/hour (based on experience and skill level)
- Retirement: 3% IRA match (after 90 days)
- Healthcare: 80% employer-paid employee premium family coverage available (after 90 days)
- Vacation: 10 days annually (after 1 year) increases to 15 days (after 3 years)

- Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 40 hours/week

Hours:
- Schedule: MondayFriday, 6:00 AM2:30 PM
- Overtime: Optional no forced after-hours calls or on-call requirements
- Work Environment: Field work at customer locations (rail yards, warehouses, distribution centers) shop-based diagnostics and repairs service vehicles (F550s transitioning to step vans) returned to shop daily
- Tools: Bring personal tools up to 1/2-inch drive shop provides larger specialty tools and all field vehicle equipment
