We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department on a per diem basis. Key responsibilities include performing thorough patient assessments, administering medications and treatments with precision, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively, and managing acute care situations with professionalism. The role requires a strong foundation in emergency medicine procedures, critical care experience, and familiarity with diverse medical conditions encountered in an emergency setting. Your expertise will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and uphold our commitment to high-quality healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed triage assessments to prioritize patient needs efficiently and accurately.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage airway patency and ventilator support for critically ill patients requiring respiratory assistance.
- Perform wound suturing, catheterizations, and other invasive procedures adhering to sterile techniques.
- Monitor vital signs continuously, interpret physiological data, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful emergency situations.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, radiology procedures (e.g., CT scans), and trauma assessments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with hospital standards like NCQA standards and ICD coding practices.
MUST HAVE: BLS, ACLS, State License
