Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, cleaning, and transportation to appointments or community activities.
- Implement specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or neurodevelopmental disorders by applying memory care techniques and engaging in therapeutic activities.
- Use equipment like Hoyer lifts safely during patient transfers and assist with hospice or palliative care needs compassionately.
- Communicate effectively with clients and their families about care progress, concerns, and updates to foster trust and transparency.
- Transportation to and from doctor appointments or other errands required for the clients.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Strong patient observation skills to detect subtle changes in health status or behavior patterns.
- Knowledge of home health practices including patient monitoring, medication administration, and patient personal care assistance.
- Ability to perform CPR and first aid confidently; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Competence in caring for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through specialized memory care strategies.
- Experience operating patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts and performing manual handling safely.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients, families, healthcare teams, and social workers.
- Capable of heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety protocols; experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
