Our client a top multi-family property management company is seeking to hire an Assistant Property Manager to join their team in Madison, WI. This is a full-time (direct hire) position that pays $24-$26/hour and includes monthly bonuses ($300-$500/month) and a very strong benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental coverage starting within 30 days of hire, 401(k) with company match after one month, PTO, holidays & b-day off, paid parental leave, rent discounts, and more.
We are seeking a candidate that has at least 1+ years of experience as an Assistant Property Manager and the ability to provide support to Property Managers across a portfolio of apartment complexes. In this role you will be given your own desk and work out of the Madison Office, but you will be required to go out into the field to support other properties during move-ins/move-outs, busy leasing times, and other projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Assist in preparing advertising materials
- Assist in showing units and screening applicants
- Maintain records of rental levels of comparable units in surrounding area
- Present creative leasing and marketing ideas
- Maintain courteous communication with residents, applicants, and representatives of other companies
Lease Administration
- Prepare and maintain complete resident files
- Prepare late notices and notices to pay rent
- Assist in collection of rents and preparation of receipts
- Assist with legal proceedings
- Assist with lease preparation, signing and administration
Resident Service
- Maintain Tenant Relations
- Assist in scheduling of vacant units for refurbishing and occupancy
- Assist in maintenance of work order system
General Office
- Maintain general office files
- Assist in generating correspondences: letters, memos, notices, newsletters, etc.
- Assist in preparation of all weekly and monthly reports
- Assist in maintaining all required inventories for project supplies and equipment
Other Duties
- Direct the operation of the property within established guidelines in the absence of the Property Manager
- Inspect grounds, vacancies, and common areas to ensure they are maintained in top condition

QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2+ years of experience inside apartment/property management.
- Comfortable working with the general public and providing strong customer service.
- Strong computer, internet, Word, and Excel skills.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance and the ability to perform work responsibilities at other locations and ability to travel within major Madison metropolitan area.
- Business professional appearance when interacting with residents and onsite in the Madison office.
- High School diploma or GED (some college preferred).
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
