About the Role
AbendHealth is a fast-growing, family-owned primary care practice in Rockaway, NJ. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Full-Time Medical Biller to manage our billing workflow and revenue cycle.
This is a focused billing and accounts receivable role. The ideal candidate has strong, recent experience in primary care billing, understands insurance claims and denials, and is comfortable communicating professionally with patients regarding balances.

Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on primary care medical claims daily.
- Review claims for coding accuracy, modifiers, diagnoses, and payer-related issues.
- Work insurance denials, rejections, corrected claims, and appeals.
- Run and actively manage accounts receivable and aging reports.
- Post insurance payments, EOBs/ERAs, and patient payments accurately.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients about balances, deductibles, copays, and billing questions.
- Navigate payer portals such as Availity, NaviNet, Medicare, and other insurance websites.
- Help identify recurring billing issues and improve overall practice workflows.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent medical billing experience required.
- Specialty: Direct primary care billing experience required.
- Technology: Strong proficiency with payer portals and EHR/billing systems. Experience with Elation Health EHR is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, EOBs, denials, and AR follow-up.
- Patient Communication: Professional, calm, and confident when speaking with patients about financial balances.
- Certification: CPC, CPB, or billing/coding certification is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
