Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Spray Foam Insulation Equipment Shop Lead/Builder/Assembler to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and maintaining spray foam insulation rigs, ensuring they meet safety standards and operational efficiency. As a Shop Lead, you will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate fabrication tasks, and support the installation teams on-site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team while contributing to the delivery of high-quality insulation solutions that improve energy efficiency for our clients. The ideal candidate is energetic, mechanically inclined, and passionate about construction and craftsmanship.
Duties
- Lead and oversee daily shop operations, providing guidance and direction to other team members
- Assemble and install spray foam insulation equipment and rig components
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and help train new or junior team members
- Read and interpret build specs, diagrams, or instructions for equipment assembly
- Perform basic mechanical work as needed for rig builds
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during assembly
- Ensure quality control and consistency across builds
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work area
- Communicate progress, issues, and timelines to management
- Collaborate with team members to meet build timelines and quality standards
Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical or carpentry work
- Prior spray foam rig building experience required
- Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or team-lead capacity preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools
- Ability to read schematics or diagrams and follow technical instructions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or lead a team
