Overview
A growing automotive industry leader is seeking an Application Engineer to oversee fuel injection products throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure great product performance and swift issue resolution.

Our client is an established Tier 1 & 2 automotive supplier recognized for technical excellence. Working directly with the Engineering Manager, you will join a collaborative team focused on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment.
Responsibilities / What You’ll Do
- Optimize remanufacturing processes for Hydraulically Actuated Unit Diesel and Common Rail Diesel injectors.
- Provide application engineering support for assigned Port Fuel Injection products and program workloads.
- Investigate performance issues, including lab test failures, flow audits, and field incidents.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCCA) and deploy corrective actions for engineering defects.
- Write technical documentation, including incident summaries, audit reports, and engineering updates.
- Participate in program reviews, EPO meetings, and daily Gemba walks to communicate project updates.
- Support manufacturing and supply chain with technical input to maintain product quality and on-time shipments.
- Collaborate with labs, quality teams, and suppliers to resolve technical bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement to maximize product durability and system robustness.
- Adapt to project needs, working in an office environment with occasional off-hours support during critical launches.
Qualifications / Who are we looking for
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
Experience: 5+ years in application engineering, product support, or validation engineering.
Diesel Expertise: Direct experience with the design, validation, and manufacturing of Common Rail Diesel injectors and automotive diesel fuel systems.
Technical Skills: Proven ability in 3D SolidWorks design, GD&T drawing generation, and root cause analysis on diesel system failures.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, clear technical writing, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Traits: Experience with automotive fuel/engine systems, production launches, sustaining engineering, and validation test setups.
Strongly Preferred: Experience focusing on Diesel Fuel Injectors.
