About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant in Pediatrics at Quincy Medical Group, you will play an important role in providing compassionate care to infants, children, adolescents, and their families. Working closely with pediatric providers and the care team, you will support well-child visits, acute illness appointments, immunizations, developmental screenings, and patient education while helping create a welcoming and positive experience for every family.

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time position, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Occasional Saturday shifts (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM) may be scheduled to support the Pediatric Walk-In Clinic.

Work schedule will vary based on department needs and provider coverage.

Fast-paced pediatric clinic supporting nine pediatric providers, nurse practitioners, and the Pediatric Walk-In Clinic.
Primary Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, growth measurements, medical histories, medication information, and visit details.

Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with office visits, procedures, and treatments.

Administer immunizations, medications, and other clinical services within scope of practice and organizational policies.

Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, medication refills, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments.

Educate parents and caregivers on immunizations, medications, treatment plans, developmental milestones, and preventive health.

Respond to patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Prepare and stock exam rooms, monitor vaccine inventory, and ensure equipment readiness.

Support care coordination and maintain a welcoming, child-friendly environment for patients and families.

Perform other duties as assigned to support pediatric clinic operations.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

CPR certification required (available upon hire).

Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Previous clinical experience in a physician office or pediatric setting preferred.

Experience working with children is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children and families.

Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
