Job Description
Driver CDL Class (Air Brake endorsement) required. This position performs pick-up and delivery of commercial golf and turf equipment in the surrounding territory. Job duties also include customer consultations, basic operator training, quality control, and assisting with scheduling logistics.
· Safely operate company vehicles and trailers to pick up and deliver equipment or other materials.
· Responsible for vehicle safety, product safety, and timely delivery.
· Loading and unloading equipment on & off a trailer and securing loads.
· Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for delivery and/or pick up of equipment to customers.
· Responsible for vehicle maintenance schedule and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
· Daily vehicle and trailer inspections per DOT guidelines.
· Perform basic equipment quality control inspections including decals, fuel level, operation and documentation. Cleaning and/or labeling equipment when needed.
· Customer consultation while picking up or delivering equipment to include documenting, customer request and answering any questions or contacting supervisor to answer any customer questions or concerns.
· Contacting customers prior to pick up or delivery.
· Maintain up to date any and all driver’s log, & records per DOT guidelines using Electronic Log Device (ELD).
· Ensure new delivery packets are properly assembled; help schedule logistics to meet required delivery dates.
· Assist Service Manager in planning and developing strategies to improve market share, customer relations, productivity, profitability, and our pursuit to CSI to 9+.
· Must have the ability and willingness to travel with multiple overnight stays via airplane, car, or other appropriate means of transportation for business-related purposes. This includes but may not be limited to facility and field visits, vendor visits, continued education, and other business-related activities.
Preferred Competencies, Qualifications, and Skills:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Must possess a Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) With Air Brake endorsement.
· Clean driving record. Current medical card.
· At least 6 months to one year experience in related fields for those individuals without formal education. Applicants should meet the physical requirements of the position, including, but not limited to standing for an entire shift, climbing, lifting, bending, stooping, moving equipment up to 75 lbs., physical labor, etc.
· Ability to read, understand and follow procedures, rules and regulations.
· Must possess excellent written communication skills.
· Good hand/eye coordination necessary.
· Candidates must be willing to work outside in all climate conditions.
· Must be available to work after hours & overtime which could include weekends or overnight trips.
· Positive attitude.
· Experience with commercial golf and turf equipment desired.
· Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, systems is desired.
· Strong safety awareness and adherence to DOT Rules and Regulations.
· Must be trainable, team player and willing to develop their career.
· Commitment to professional development.
